John Manix has over 30 years experience in civil defense litigation and 20 years in school law. John serves as general counsel to school districts, has a particular expertise in Public Records Act law, and serves as defense litigation for school district and ESD clients who are insured by the Washington Schools Risk Management Pool.
John graduated with Honors from Carroll College with a dual B.A. degree in Political Science and English, where he served two terms as Vice-President of the Associated Students of Carroll College. John attended the University of Washington School of Law where he graduated with J.D. Degree and served as Vice-President of the Moot Court Honor Board. While in law school, John received the American Jurisprudence awards in Evidence and Criminal Procedure.
Prior to joining the firm, John worked as an attorney in the areas of labor management and complex commercial litigation for the Karr Tuttle Campbell law firm in Seattle, and as a partner in the litigation section of the Paine Hamblen law firm in Spokane. John has served as volunteer of the Big Brothers organization and is married with two children and a grandchild.
